Musoni leads African Ambassadors in condolence visit to Muzawazi family

Dean of the Diplomatic Corps in Zimbabwe, Ambassador James Musoni of Rwanda, has led a delegation of 10 ambassadors from African countries and Cuba to pay their condolences to Institute of African Knowledge (INSTAK) Chairperson Ambassador Kwame Muzawazi following the death of his brother.

Ambassador Musoni and the delegation visited the Muzawazi family at their home in Harare on Wednesday, following the death of Malcom Takudzwa Muzawazi on September 24, 2026.

The delegation comprised ambassadors from South Sudan, the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, Egypt, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Nigeria, Namibia, Algeria and Cuba.

Ambassador Musoni delivered a condolence message on behalf of the Africa Group of Ambassadors in Harare, expressing shock and deep sorrow over the death of Ambassador Muzawazi’s brother.

In the message, Ambassador Musoni said the group stood in solidarity with Ambassador Muzawazi and his family during their difficult time of bereavement.

“The Group wishes to convey its heartfelt condolences to you, your family, and all who loved him during this difficult and painful time,” he said.

He said the sudden loss was devastating and acknowledged the deep love the late Muzawazi had received from those who knew him.

“Please know that you are not alone in your grief; the Africa Group of Ambassadors stand in absolute solidarity with you and your family,” Ambassador Musoni said.

He also wished the family strength and comfort as they mourned their loss, adding that the late Muzawazi’s memory would remain alive in the hearts of those who knew him.

Ambassador Susellys Perez Mesa of Cuba also delivered a statement expressing condolences to the Muzawazi family.

Meanwhile, Chief Secretary in the Office of the President and Cabinet, Dr Martin Rushwaya, Director-General in the President’s Department, Ambassador Paul Chikawa, and Deputy Chief Secretary Zvinechimwe Churu also paid their condolences to the family and attended the funeral service on Sunday.

And Ambassador of the State of Palestine, Dr Tamer Almassri, also sent a message of condolence to the bereaved family.
