The Ambassador of the State of Palestine, His Excellency Tamer Almassri, has issued a scathing condemnation of Israel’s continuous and systematic violations of ceasefire agreements in the Gaza Strip.
Ambassador Almassri said despite ongoing diplomatic efforts, the Israeli occupation forces persist in targeting various regions across Gaza, maintaining a lethal campaign against a defenseless civilian population.
“Simultaneously, the occupation has aggressively intensified its operations in the occupied West Bank.
“This calculated escalation includes a surge in punitive home demolitions, unprecedented settlement expansion, and state-sanctioned settler violence directed at Palestinian communities,” said Ambassador Almassri.
He stated that these coordinated actions across Gaza and the West Bank lay bare the reality of Israeli policy: Israel has never been interested in a genuine peace process. Instead, its primary objective remains the violent entrenchment and consolidation of its colonial occupation over the State of Palestine.
“The human cost of this unchecked aggression has reached catastrophic proportions.
“Since the beginning of the assault in October 2023, the confirmed death toll in the Gaza Strip has risen to 73,231, with women and children making up the vast majority of the casualties. “Furthermore, at least 173,686 Palestinians have sustained injuries.”
He added : “the State of Palestine emphasizes that these staggering figures remain incomplete. Thousands of additional victims remain trapped beneath the rubble of destroyed neighbourhoods, entirely inaccessible to ambulance, medical and emergency rescue crews due to continuous bombardment and blockades.”
Ambassador Almassri added that the State of Palestine calls on the international community, international rights organizations, and the United Nations to move beyond rhetoric, hold the occupying power accountable under international law, and enforce an immediate, unconditional and permanent end to the genocide.
