BY MUNYARADZI BLESSING DOMA

TongaatHulett Hospitality won the Best Sport Tourism Exhibition, at the recently held Sanganai/Hlanganani Dzimbabwe 2026 World Tourism Expo.

The tourism fête, was held from September 9-12, at Gymkhana Events and Conference Centre in Masvingo.

And as part of the expo, exhibitions were judged on various issues and TongaatHulett Hospitality came out tops.

The exhibition stand’s miniature golf course proved to be a hit with expo attendees, as people of all ages took turns to enjoy.

Qhubekani Tshuma, Triangle Country Club Hospitality Manager, could not hide her joy following the win, which she said demonstrates their dedication to promoting sports tourism in the Lowveld.

“On behalf of Tongaat Hospitality, we are excited and honoured to have won this prestigious award at the Sanganai/Hlanganani Dzimbabwe 2026 World Tourism Expo.

“This is a milestone for us and we are looking forward to so much patronage at our country clubs,” said Tshuma.

Tshuma further revealed that striving to be unique is what sets them apart.

“What is unique about us at Triangle Country Club or at Hippo Country Club is that these are the places where business, leisure and lifestyle all come together.

“At Tongaat Hospitality, we offer varied services, we have got very comfortable accommodation facilities.

“And for business travellers too, we have got conference facilities, we have facilities for any other function that may be suitable to you.”

Tshuma further revealed that Tongaat Hospitality has a variety of sporting facilities.

“We have got a 72-par 18-hole golf course, cricket facilities, lawn bowling, rugby, tennis, swimming and a gym facility as well.

“This caters for both family or those that want to compete or those that are just coming to enjoy a leisure experience in the Lowveld.”

Speaking in an earlier interview at Triangle Country Club, Tshuma said that the tourism expo had provided them with an opportunity to showcase all their facilities and put the wider Lowveld on the tourism map.

“For us in the Lowveld, it’s more of us being known out there.

“Because a lot of people, each time we get visitors, even as close as Harare, some people don’t even know. They would not have known about this place.

“So for us, Sanganai has given us a chance to be visible on the tourism platform. Not only for Triangle Country Club, but I would say as Lowveld, as a destination,” said Tshuma.
