Urban Lifestyles Hotel and Conference Centre hopes to attract more guests and maximise on their success at the recently held Sanganai/Hlanganani Dzimbabwe World Tourism Expo.
The tourism operator won the 1st Runner-Up Best Hotel Exhibition, in a tightly contested competition.
They were among businesses recognised during the awards ceremony of the 19th edition of the tourism expo, which was held in Masvingo at Gymkhana Events and Conference Centre.
Chief Operating Officer Tanaka Mazorodze-Mandidi, said the award was a major achievement for the operator, which got an opportunity to showcase its facilities on a big stage.
“We have just had the privilege and honour of receiving an award at the Sanganai/Hlanganani Award Ceremony, and for us, it’s such a big win.
“To be such a small operator and have the opportunity to stand on a big stage like that, zvinonakidza, it’s exciting for us.”
Mazorodze-Mandidi said the award had also helped to raise awareness of Urban Lifestyles, with the hotel now hoping to turn the exposure into increased business.
“What it means for us practically, a lot of people now know who Urban Lifestyles is, and a lot of people we hope that will come through and see our property and stay with us and experience our Masvingo-style, home-style hospitality.”

She said the company was looking forward to maximising on the exposure gained from Sanganai and attracting more people to use its facilities.
Mazorodze-Mandidi also praised the organisation of the tourism expo, saying the event had provided an important platform for operators to showcase their businesses.
“For the industry as a whole, this event has been amazingly and well-organised, and we look forward to Sanganai Sanganai 2027,” she said.
Urban Lifestyles hosted the Gastronomy and MICE Masterclass events, clear evidence of endorsement by tourism authorities.
