All is set for the Redmark Group Squash Open which will take place this weekend at Belgravia Sports Club, with entries now officially closed.
The tournament, organized by the Zimbabwe Education Squash Trust (ZEST) operating as Belgravia Squash Academy and sponsored by Redmark Group, will run from 7-8 August 2026.
The event has drawn strong junior entries from across Zimbabwe, with players set to compete in various age groups.
Organizers say the turnout reflects the growing interest in squash, as the sport prepares for its Olympic debut at LA 2028.
“With squash now an Olympic sport, it has to grow fast. Tournaments like this give our juniors the platform and exposure they need to compete at higher levels,” said a ZEST spokesperson.
Redmark Group Chairman, Mathew Manyangadze, said the company is proud to back the initiative.
“We are ready and excited. As Redmark Group, we are committed to supporting squash and giving young players a platform to compete. “This is just the beginning of a long-term partnership to grow the sport in Zimbabwe,” said Manyangadze.
It is further reported that ZEST has put all logistical and technical arrangements in place. And courts have been prepared, fixtures finalized and officials confirmed for the 2-day event.
International interest is also building, with squash bodies from the United States and neighbouring countries Botswana, South Africa, Zambia, and Nigeria having expressed interest in future editions of the tournament.
