New Life Junior Academy produced an impressive performance on home soil when they outclassed Buddies for Life from Mufakose, in Matchday 16 of the Harare Elite Development League at Rehoboth Mabamba Ground in Zengeza 3 Extension, Chitungwiza.
New Life Junior Academy playing impressive football, enjoyed massive support from their home fans, who turned up in numbers and provided the youngsters with the much-needed encouragement throughout the matches.
The hosts displayed good tactical prowess across the different age groups, with their disciplined approach and attacking play earning them victories in all the matches that were played.
New Life started the day with a narrow 1-0 victory in the Under-10 encounter, before the Under-12 and Under-14 sides also registered identical 1-0 wins over Buddies for Life.
However, it was the Under-16 side that stole the show, producing a dominant display to thrash their opponents 6-0 in a one-sided encounter.
The Under-18 match was not played after Buddies for Life failed to bring an Under-18 team.
New Life Junior Academy representative Talent Zhira, popularly known as Billy ZW, expressed his happiness with the results, saying the team was gaining confidence as the league enters its final stages.
“I am so happy with the win today as we are moving towards the end of the league with six games left,” said Zhira.
Zhira said the academy was also hopeful of lifting the 2026 Harare Elite Development League Cup in the Under-10, Under-12 and Under-14 categories.
“Under-10, 12 and 14 we have hope to lift the 2026 Harare Elite Development League Cup,” he said.
The academy will now shift its attention to the Champions League, where they are scheduled to face Gaza Stars in the Under-14, Under-16 and Under-18 categories.
With six league matches remaining, New Life Junior Academy will be hoping to maintain their momentum as they push for honours, with their strong home support, tactical discipline and impressive performances giving them plenty to be optimistic about.
