The State of Palestine Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Dr Tamer Almassri, has congratulated President Mnangagwa on the occasion of his birthday.

In a statement, Ambassador Almassri said he was celebrating President Mnangagwa on behalf of the Palestinian people and the Palestinian Mission in Zimbabwe.

“We deeply appreciate and commend your wise and exemplary leadership, particularly during your tenure as Chairperson of SADC.

“Your guidance demonstrated a profound commitment to regional stability and development, leaving a lasting legacy.

“Also, we would like to wish Zimbabwe great success in its bid for a seat on the United Nations Security Council,” said Dr Almassri.

He added: “the Palestinian people, who have been subjected to decades of occupation, genocide, and dispossession, understand the importance of a strong and effective United Nations.

“We believe that Zimbabwe’s presence on the Security Council will help to amplify the voices of marginalized and oppressed communities around the world, including our own.

“We are confident that Zimbabwe will bring a voice of reason, justice, and African solidarity to this crucial global body.”

Ambassador Almassri said the strong bonds between Palestine and Zimbabwe are a source of great pride.

“We are deeply grateful for your ongoing and unwavering support for the Palestinian people in their struggle for freedom, justice, and self-determination.

“Your solidarity at a time Palestine is under the Israeli genocide is a testament to Zimbabwe’s principled foreign policy and its commitment to international law and human rights.

“May you be blessed with good health, strength, and continued wisdom to lead the great nation of Zimbabwe to new heights of prosperity,” added Ambassador Almassri.
