The Selekta Base Foundation made a heartfelt impact this past weekend, donating food hampers to the elderly and other vulnerable members of the Sunningdale community, as part of its ongoing commitment to render support.

The initiative was led by Selekta Base, real name Arnold Tinashe Chigwerewe, and was notably supported by Harare Mayor Councillor Jacob Mafume, who personally joined the team to deliver the hampers and engage with beneficiaries. Mayor Mafume praised the Foundation’s efforts, highlighting the importance of community solidarity and civic responsibility in supporting the most vulnerable.

The charitable drive also saw participation from bike clubs, car clubs, friends, and supporters, all of whom contributed to the success of the event.

Expressing his gratitude at the event, Selekta Base said one does not need to be rich to give to those in need.

“You do not have to wait until you are rich to help those in need. Giving back starts with compassion, unity, and action.”

He reiterated that the Foundation is committed to continuing charitable initiatives throughout the year, assisting communities in every possible way.

Mayor Mafume said they were aware of the challenges being faced by the people and they will work with relevant stakeholders to implement solutions.

The recipients paid tribute to the Foundation for the kind gesture, saying it will go a long way in improving livelihoods.

The Selekta Base Foundation has praised the many people who participated and supported the noble cause, as it reinforced the message that together, we can make a difference.
