KidzCan launches Orange Month to fight childhood cancer

KidzCan Zimbabwe, a leading organisation dedicated to supporting children with cancer, has launched the February Orange Month, which is a month-long awareness campaign in recognition of International Childhood Cancer Day.

The February Orange Month campaign is a global initiative aimed at raising awareness, support and fostering appreciation for the challenges faced by children and adolescents with cancer, survivors and their families.

The global theme for 2025 is, “Inspiring Action – Finding Solutions,” which builds upon challenges identified in 2024, emphasizing the need for collective action and innovative solutions.

Key dates are February 4th and 15th which are  World Cancer Day and International Childhood Cancer Day (ICCD) respectively.

KidzCan will throughout February, host events and activities designed to raise awareness and provide support for children affected by cancer.

“We invite everyone to join us in this critical mission.

“Together, we can make a difference and create a brighter future for these courageous children,” read a statement from the organisation.

As part of the month-long awareness campaign, KidzCan will carry out several initiatives.

“Choose a day in February, wear orange, share on social media and tag KidzCan.

“Follow and engage with us on social media (LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram).

“Donate in cash or kind to support children affected by cancer.

“Share messages and  updates using #OrangeMonth2025 #PaintZimbabweOrange #KidzCanOrangeMonth,” added the statement.
