The grand finale for the Cimas Health Group, Healthathon 2.0 is on this Friday at the Harare Institute of Technology (HIT) and the overall winner will pocket US$1 500.

Foster Akaketwa, Chief Information Officer at Cimas Health Group revealed in a recent press conference that the second and third prize winners will walk away US$1,000 and US$750 richer, respectively, while the fourth and fifth winners will pocket US$500 and US$400.

Akaketwa also revealed that the shortlisting process of contestants had been held from 24 to 25 October, while the induction workshop had been set for October 24.

And Akaketwa also revealed that the hacking was from October 27, to the grand finale scheduled for this Friday at HIT.

With this event, Cimas Health Group is aiming to bring together a diverse group of students, professionals and innovators to develop cutting edge solutions addressing the most pressing challenges in the healthcare industry.

Cimas Health Group Chief Executive Officer, Vuli Ndlovu said they were happy to host this year’s edition of the Healthathon 2.0 event aimed at driving innovation in healthcare.

“The Healthathon 2.0, event will be held under the theme “Transforming Healthcare: Pioneering

Tomorrow’s Health Solutions.”

“The Healthathon 2.0 competition will serve as a dynamic platform representing a strategic opportunity where participants can showcase their creativity, technical expertise, and problem solving skills to foster innovation in healthcare, enhance partnerships, and develop practical solutions for industry challenges,” said Ndlovu.

Further speaking on the Healthathon, Akaketwa said: “the participants will have an opportunity to present their projects to a panel of industry experts and thought leaders, with the most promising ideas being recognised and rewarded.

“The competition’s ultimate winner will pocket US$1,500, while the second and third winners will walk away US$1,000 and US$750 richer, respectively. The fourth and fifth winners will pocket US$500 and US$400.”
