The expansion of the Goromonzi Road by Prospect Lithium Zimbabwe (PLZ), has greatly improved connectivity in the district which is famed for its mining and agricultural activities.

Speaking during a tour of the 8 kilometre road construction project on Thursday, Yu Long, Environmental Social Governance (ESG) Director, said the move is also set to attract more investors to the district.

“The road construction “augments government efforts in infrastructure development in the country.

“The expansion of the Goromonzi Road has

improved connectivity, facilitating the transportation of goods and people alike.

“This development is also set to enhance the district’s attractiveness to more

investors, further boosting economic growth.

“The road network construction in Goromonzi District is a testament to our

commitment to improving infrastructure and supporting economic development,” said Long.

He added that as a business, they believe the road construction investment will have a lasting impact on the local community and contribute to

Zimbabwe’s economic growth.

Speaking during the same tour, Patience Chizodza, PLZ Public Relations Manager said the road construction is one of their elite projects, which began in 2024.

“We are constructing 8 kilometres, the first 4 has already been done and we are currently working on the other 4.

“We are huge on infrastructure development as PLZ and we are happy that this project is ongoing,” said Chizodza.

During the tour, heavy machinery and construction vehicles, including excavators, graders and dump trucks, could be seen actively working on the road construction site.
