Africa and Zimbabwe’s Strongest Woman, Chido Maenzanise, continued with her dominance in the sport as she won South Africa’s Strongest competition which was held in Durban last Saturday.
Maenzanise who has been winning several local and regional competitions, had to adequately prepare (for the competition) as she knew she was facing strong contenders.
And Maenzanise could not hide her joy with her latest triumph, as she thanked everyone who has been part of her journey.
“At first I was nervous so my performance was low because I was on number three but then I had to focus and push harder.
“I’m so happy and excited with this win and I want to thank God first, then my two coaches Black Moses and World Coach Shane.
“I would also like to thank my mum for managing me and supporting me so much,” said Maenzanise.
Maenzanise added that she knew the competition was going to be tough hence she remain focused and avoid complacency.
“I was really prepared for it (competition) because I knew I was going to compete with very strong contenders.
“I knew the competition was going to be very tough, so I had to avoid any complacency.
“I faced tough contenders from Zambia, DRC and South Africa.
“And we participated in the truck pull, maximum deadlift, yoke and farmers walk medley and log,” she added.
