In a significant milestone which encourages healthy eating and promotes wellness, Cimas Health Group recently launched the iGo Recipe Book.
Several members and other officials attended the launch which was held at Cimas Health Group Borrowdale Office Park in Harare last Friday.
The iGo Recipe Book which has 30 recipes, is a team effort of dietitians and culinary experts.
The launch saw live cooking demonstrations by Chefs who prepared several dishes and attendees got to taste the food and also ask questions on preparations.
Cimas Health Group Chief Marketing Officer, Tatenda Madzikanda, said there was a close link between food and wellness hence they launched the Recipe Book.
“We are a wellness organisation and we will participate on everything that involves wellness, that’s why we are launching this particular Recipe Book today.
“And you would also realised there is a close link, close relationship between wellness and food and hence our interest in encouraging healthy eating habits.
“There is this saying that you are what you eat, meaning it is important that you eat a whole balanced diet for us to be fit and healthy,” said Madzikanda.
Head of iGo, Dr Willmore Kapuyanyika, highlighted the recipe book’s role in dealing with none-communicable diseases such as diabetes, hypertension and heart disease.
“The initiative aligns with Cimas’ mission to inspire healthier communities, the recipes are designed to promote balanced eating habits and help prevent and manage conditions like high cholesterol, obesity and kidney diseases,” said Dr Kapuyanyika.
Speaking at the same event, iGo Dietitian Kudzai Vere said it was not true that healthy food is boring, as their recipes book is showing.
“We have put together a collection of 30 recipes to demystify the myth that healthy food is boring,” she said.
The iGo Recipe Book is part of Cimas Health Group’s broader efforts to empower individuals to make healthier food choices.
It has step-by-step instructions, nutritional guides and easy-to-follow recipes which all promote healthy eating.
