LEAD (Labour Economists and African Democrats) President, Linda Tsungirirai Masarira, in a bid to address healthcare inequalities, drug abuse and menstrual poverty, will on October 3, 2025, officially launch the Linda Tsungirirai Masarira Foundation (LTMF). The Foundation seeks to restore dignity and offer practical hope through targeted philanthropic interventions.
“I am proud to officially inform the world that Linda Tsungirirai Masarira Foundation (LTMF) is now alive and awaits official launch on my birthday on the 3rd of October 2025. LTMF is a vehicle of hope, healing and dignity.
“Through this foundation, I am committing to restoring lives, fighting inequality and building systems of compassion,” she announced.
With the youth battling drug abuse and bearing the brunt of drug addiction, the foundation plans to build rehabilitation centres to offer mental health support, clinical treatment and reintegration services.
A holistic approach will recognise addiction as a health and societal crisis not a moral failing.
And in a statement, Masarira established that period poverty has unfortunately led to girls having low self-esteem and missing school.
But the foundation will address this long- neglected issue by distributing sanitary pads to underprivileged girls and women. Additionally, on the core of the agenda is the push for menstrual health education and policy reforms to end the shame and infections linked to lack of access to sanitary pads.
The foundation is spearheading efforts to establish oncology centres across Zimbabwe and this move will enable low-income patients to access cancer screening, diagnosis and palliative care.
The Linda Tsungirirai Foundation is mobilizing resources, forging partnerships and identifying sites for its inaugural oncology and rehabilitation centers.
The foundation is also rolling out its Menstrual Dignity Campaign to schools and rural clinics across the nation.
“True leadership is not just in occupying the office. It’s in restoring the dignity of those who have been abandoned by the systems and silenced by inequality,” Masarira said.
Masarira is a well-known advocate for justice, who has received awards for her leadership and activism. Her foundation is an extension of her grassroots activism, bridging systemic change with impact in local communities.
As Zimbabwe progresses into the future, the presence of the Linda Tsungirirai Masarira Foundation serves as a poignant reminder that true transformation begins with acts of selfless service, genuine love, and the power of healing.
