The City of Kadoma is this Tuesday, May 27, rolling out a new Prepaid Parking Management system, aimed at streamlining parking operations in the Central Business District (CBD).
In a statement, Kadoma Town Clerk, Malvern Dondo encouraged all motorists to take note of the changes and adapt to the prepaid parking system.
“Motorists are advised that all parking fee receipting will now be electronic, rendering manually produced tickets invalid. The CBD area, bordered by Kaguvi Road, Mashonganyika Road, Campion Road, and Josiah Tongagara Avenue, will be subject to prepaid parking fees with no exceptions.”
Dondo outlined the systems features stating that, “parking fees remain at USD1 per hour or local currency equivalent.
“Heavy vehicles are prohibited from entering the CBD. Payment methods include cash, Ecocash, Swipe and Omari. An Electronic Ticketing System (ETS) will be used to manage parking.”
Residents have welcomed this development and some of them shared their reactions in the Kadoma Residents group.
“This is a positive step forward Mr M Dondo and your team for implementation of such, we hope this will go a long way in rebuilding trust , transparency and openiness in your council activities regarding the above matter.” – Champion.
“Thank you for such a good initiative.” – Francis Phiri.
“That is great for the city,” – Action Nyamukondiwa, former Kadoma Major
