Zimbabwe’s Strongest Woman Chido Maenzanise, wrote her own piece of history when she became Africa’s Strongest Woman, at a tightly contested competition which was held over the weekend in South Africa.
The 30-year-old, triumphed in the two-day competition which had athletes from Zambia, Ghana, Democratic Republic of Congo, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Algeria and hosts South Africa.
Chido who now has 28 medals, described the competition as the toughest of all she has competed in.
“It was a tough competition out of all the competitions that I have competed in so far. This was the toughest one because I was in the same track with Ghana and SA and ndovaindipinzisa ma horror and maresults anezuro it was SA on number 1 then me and Ghana we were a tie.
“So between me and Ghana, I thought that’s where we were supposed to have number two and three.
“But I couldn’t believe it when after all the tallying of results was done, I was announced as the number 1.
“This was just a miracle for everyone and all I can say is God is great and if you work hard, you will win,” said Chido.

She paid tribute to everyone who has been part of her journey, saying without their support, she would not be achieving all these accolades.
“I would like to thank all the sponsors who have helped me and the government.
“And I also like to thank my coaches who keep on pushing me to become the best and this is the result,” said Chido.
