The Avenues Clinic General Manager, Sibusisiwe Ndhlovu says they will continue complementing government efforts to provide health to the citizens of the country, following the reopening of the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Ward on Monday.

Speaking during the tour of the 15-roomed Obs and Gyna Ward, Ndhlovu said their aim is to provide top quality care to their patients.

Four of the rooms are private (one patient per room), whilst the remainder, 11 rooms, are shared (two patients per room.)

“We continue to play our part to complement government efforts in terms of providing health.

“Health is not an easy business, but I think with patience, with care, with fortitude, we’ll get there.

“And we believe that we are well placed as The Avenues Clinic to do our bit to ensure that we have a place as a country that our citizens can go to.

“They have a choice of where to go to, where they are offered healing. We are all about good clinical outcomes.

“When you come to The Avenues Clinic, our wish and our expectation is that you get the best clinical outcome for your condition,” said Ndhlovu.

Ndhlovu added that renovations had already been completed in the Surgical, Medical, Privates and Paediatric Wards, all with the aim of providing top quality health.

“To us it’s a journey that we have begun and we are moving towards that journey.

“We have done two thirds of the wards in this hospital, we are left with third floor and our theatres. So it is journey and it is continuing.

“I’m grateful for all our staff here at The Avenues Clinic, the management team, our board, our shareholders who have supported us to ensure that we deliver top care to our citizens in this country.

“We have already equipped our theatres and the entire hospital has been well equipped from a clinical equipment perspective.

“We have got the equipment in place, what we are now doing is basically the modernization of our wards to provide that healing, that comfort that patients expect.

“When you are ill, you expect to be in a comfortable environment as possible, and I think that is our quest to deliver that.”

She added that in the clinical outcomes, they have got a team ready and willing to give the best that is possible in the circumstances.

Ndhlovu added that one step at a time, with courage, fortitude and support, anything is possible as they continue to inspire healthier communities.

Speaking during the same tour, Florence Ogwal, Principal Nursing Officer, said the institution had set itself to be the best in the Southern Africa, such that when patients come to The Avenues Clinic they are looking for the best clinical outcomes.

“The doctors when they refer the patients to The Avenues Clinic is because of the nursing care that they know their patients are going to be provided with,” said Ogwal.

David Bain, the Medical Investments Limited (MIL, which owns The Avenues Clinic) Board Member, as well as MIL Finance and Audit Committee Chairman, said “this is an important milestone in the development of The Avenues to the standard that we want to see it get to.

“This ward there has been a lot of effort that’s gone to getting to this world class state.”
